Comparing 'Title Openings' and 'Trailers'

The differences between film opening and trailers- the difference between both is that trailers show the audience certain snips of the film to help grab the viewers eyes and attention to persuade them to watch the latest film to be released, compared to film openings that show the viewers the director, cast and actors playing in the movie certain film opening tend to show you the location and characters but doesn’t release anything about the film. Trailers are short 2/3 minute clip that shows certain scenes in the film with a voice over about the summary and content of the film my two examples are ‘Now You See Me’ (NYSM) and ‘Spectre’ I’ve used these two films as they represent ‘opening title’ and ‘trailer’ perfectly ‘Spectre’ represents ‘opening title’ for the way the film shows the actors , directors and crew involved but only shows Daniel Craig throughout the opening without revealing the rest of the movie compared to ‘NYSM’ which shows all the actors and start, middle and end sequence throughout the film is mixed upon each other and placed in the trailer.

Trailers are used to help grab as much a audience as possible by showing the best snippets of a film to show the viewer the content and meaning of the film is about using a trailer always helps show potential views the main actors, director and meaning compared to an title opening which is used to show the cast, directors and actors but doesn’t reveal much about the film itself.

As  you can see by Spectre it is quite extravagant and mysterious but it doesn't show or give out many clues based around the film nor shows you any part of the film, but if you compare it to NYSM there is quite a dramatic difference NYSM shows you the actors, director and what is going to happen in the film. Title Openings are used to help kick start the film showing you the location the main actor but also shows you the director, throughout the Title Openings the Director always kicks starts the film following the main actor comparing that theory to an Trailer the director is shown last as the clips play revealing the actors as it plays on till the end, why is this? this is because Trailers are meant to grab the viewers eyes so it jumps into action but where as the Title Opening is meant to bleed into the film as it may have already been purchased as DVD so they don't need to grab your attention.
